Casting under way for John Lennon film

Casting is underway for 'Nowhere Boy', a picture show being made about John Lennon's aliveness, which concentrates on his troubled adolescence.

Reuters reports that film writer Matt Greenhalgh's script tells the story of Lennon being abandoned by his mother and raised by a nonindulgent aunt, his only escape valve being music, art and his friendly relationship with Paul McCartney.

Casting for the major roles is now afoot according to production party Ecosse Films, which is developing the project with the UK Film Council.
